Largest Treehouse – Fun Fact Friday

December 14, 2012

Located in Tennessee, Horace Burgess’s treehouse is believed to be the largest in the world.

Minister Burgess was divinely inspired to begin building this structure and has opened it to the public.  Over ninety feet tall, 5 stories high, with 80 rooms and over 11,000 square feet, the home includes a bell tower and church.  Begun in 1993, it took Minister Burgess 14 years to complete the treehouse; he spent $12,000.  It is constructed around a white oak tree with a 12 foot base and uses 6 other oaks for support.
