Why Do You Like Your Neighborhood?

August 1, 2011

A house is more than the building in which you live.  It is the neighborhood – the people and the amenities – that makes a house a home.  And frequently, what your neighborhood has to offer is just as important as the layout and condition of your house.  What do you like about your neighborhood?  What would you change if you could?

My neighborhood (way out in Seattle) has a great park with a lake & footpath, playing fields and boat rentals. At the same time it’s less than five miles from downtown — very urban and walkable with restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and a library branch. We have very limited public transit to this neighborhood, however, so traffic and parking are always atrocious (especially when the weather is nice and people pour into the park). Really, the only other thing that’s really missing from my neighborhood is my mom 😉

Sounds like heaven! (Except that Mom part!)
