First Time Home Buyers in PA

December 4, 2007

In Pennsylvania, first time home buyers have programs available which can help them better afford this significant purchase.  If you are reading this blog, you are aware of the tremendous power of the Internet and the fact that a huge amount of information can be gleaned by taking a little time and searching for items of interest.   To read about Pennsylvania’s programs for housing, click here: http://www.phfa.org/, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency.  From their homebuyers’ page:

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency offers home loans with low interest rates and fees through two programs: Keystone Home Loan and Keystone Home Loan PLUS. Both programs have maximum income and purchase price limits that vary by the county in which you are buying a home.

There are state-funded and managed programs for rehabbing, for lower income and for singles.  Rates are competitive and requirements are minimal, focused on encouraging home ownership in the Keystone State. As always, not every mortgage program is right for every individual.  Your Realtor will encourage you to get competitive quotes before signing any loan agreement.
